The Cambridge Centre for AI in Medicine (CCAIM) is pleased to announce a strategic collaboration with McKinsey & Company, and its artificial intelligence (AI) arm, QuantumBlack, aimed at accelerating the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI solutions in the life sciences.
This collaboration will combine CCAIM’s world-class foundational research in AI, machine learning, and biomedical sciences with McKinsey’s technology delivery capabilities and deep understanding of the life science domain. The collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between academic innovation and real-world application, delivering on the transformational promise of AI for human health.
The joint initiative will focus on:
- Translating AI research into practice by developing scalable tools for disease prediction, diagnosis, treatment personalization, and the acceleration of drug discovery—from early research to clinical development—leveraging the latest advances in biostatistics, machine learning, foundation models, and agentic AI.
- Driving responsible and ethical AI adoption, ensuring that technological advancements prioritize patient safety, fairness, and transparency.
- Enabling knowledge exchange and capacity building through joint workshops, fellowships, and training programs for clinicians, researchers, and policymakers.
